Provides leadership and guidance in the maintenance, protection, assignment, and reporting of data storage. Assures and maintains recoverability of critical corporate data for the purpose of business continuity and effective disaster recovery.  Acts as a business focal point for all activities relating to data storage.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 5 – 10 years of experience on EMC Storage (DMX 3500, 4500, and Clarion) and strong skills on EMC V-Max storage à Mandatory

• Strong knowledge on BCVs, RAID technologies, Mirroring and handling 500+ terabytes experience

• Strong NetBackup Media server (with encryption) experience and some knowledge on IIS, Broacade McData/Veritas switches

• Perform all activities relating to data storage and netbackup.

• Develop and analyze usage reports in order to properly forecast demand, trends, and capacity requirements.

• Backup, archive, migrate and restore critical data using either SAN or TSM architecture.

• Create sufficient SAN space to ensure efficient runs of production and testing systems.

• Provide analysis and resolution of complex problems relating to storage of corporate data, specializing in the EMC hardware and software applications.

• Design methods of storage, backup and archival of corporate data.

• Distribute information to customers of the data center on the proper placement and storage of corporate data.

• Work with customers to plan, develop and implement proper data naming and retention practices.

• Review reports and statistics on daily data usage, storage, movement and archival to acquire an understanding of and be able to analyze the flow of the corporate data.

• Assist in the evaluation, selection and implementation of all data-related systems software.

• Coordinate and assist other data storage analysts on projects and on the use of operational hardware and software.

• Engineer storage/backup infrastructure.

 

Demonstrates the following skills and behaviors:

• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills..

• Ability to Engineer storage and backup infrastructure.

• Ability to lead in establishing standards and policies relative to proper creation, placement, storage, backup, archival and recovery of corporate data.

• Ability to develop procedures for management of corporate data.

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field and three years of progressively responsible IT experience

• Proficiency in two or more of EMC, V-Max, NetApp and Cisco products.

• Conceptual understanding of modern storage technologies (SAN/NAS).

• Conceptual understanding of Enterprise Backup software and hands on experience on Netbackup Media servers

• Strong understanding of overall storage applications.

• Experience in server support, data center experience and computer technology.

Description: 

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) leads support, design, testing, and implementation of PeopleSoft modules, along with bug fixes, upgrades, and enhancements. Experience with sales and marketing desired.  This individual will be counted on to review business requirements and create functional designs, as well as coordinating with Developers on technical designs. The BSA team develops and conducts testing and coordinates User Acceptance Testing of very complex bugs, upgrades, enhancements, and new business initiatives. Other responsibilities include guiding and leading project teams that interface with business partners, and preparing and assisting with customer training and documentation for the work that is done.

The successful candidate will be able to perform fit/gap analysis based on requirements, and has knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle. The BSA must have the ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise serving as the liaison between business and IT.

Qualifications:

5-10+ years experience with Business Applications
